Social media — particularly TikTok and Instagram — has created a new category of cleaning celebrity: the viral product. Here's a verdict on the most talked-about ones.
Genuinely earns the hype. This mild abrasive paste works on an enormous range of surfaces and marks — pan bottoms, oven racks, bathroom tiles, chrome taps. Not suitable for delicate surfaces like marble or polished chrome, but for everything else it's outstanding value.
A disinfectant concentrate that delivers real antibacterial performance alongside genuine fragrance. Dilute correctly (usually 1:40 for surfaces). Excellent for bins, floors, and general surface disinfecting. The fragrance genuinely lingers. Not a heavy-duty degreaser — that's not what it's for.
Genuinely impressive on grease — kitchen appliances, hob surround, extractor filters. Inexpensive and effective. Can be diluted for lighter tasks.
Fine for descaling taps and showerheads, but nowhere near as versatile as the social media content implies. Avoid on marble, stone, and anything with a waxed or polished finish.
